You can now download the latest version of OilEd (3.5). A number of changes have been made since the 2.x releases, in particular a reimplementation of the reasoner interface to use the DIG protocol, enhancements to the support of namespaces and a improvements to the internal structures allowing the editing and browsing of larger ontologies.

You are advised to revisit these pages periodically to check for updates and new releases.

Registration

OilEd is provided free of charge, but we do ask that you provide us with some details before downloading OilEd. This will allow us to keep track of how many people are using our software and will enable us to inform users of any new developments, releases or bug fixes. Registration is a simple process requiring a valid email address. Once you have registered, you will be given a password which you can then use to revisit pages to download patches and extensions when necessary.

Requirements

OilEd requires Java (recommended Java 1.4.0 or later). To get the full benefit from OilEd, you will also need to have a reasoner. OilEd comes packaged with the FaCT reasoner, although alternative reasoners can be used (See the manual for details).
